Dorland's Arrive Safely!!!!!!!!!
Here's a blog post from Anita! Fri, 08/07/2009 - 06:05.
Good morning! It is a beautiful sunny morning in Marquette, Michigan. We arrived at my sister's this morning at approx. 1 am. God is good! Greg drove all day yesterday. (We awoke to a georgous sunrise in North Dakota at around 4:30am your time, near where my mom was born. We were very near train tracks and I had prayed that we would sleep well and not be awoken by trains all night. We only heard the train 1 time. Maybe that was the only one.) We stopped briefly for food and rest stops. The land is so flat and the road so straight across N. Dakota. The countryside we've seen is beautiful. Across Washington, Idaho, and the first part of Montana there were several mountain passes and we averaged about 40 - 45 MPH, when we stopped the tires were sooo hot. I prayed throughout the day that angels would fly all around us and believe they must have fanned the tires to keep us safe! The rest of the way we usually averaged about 60 MPH (in a 75 zone). Yesterday we crossed the rest of North Dakota, Minnisota, Wisconsin, and then into Michigan. I've seen more miles of corn and grain fields than you can imagine. We were blessed with incredibly light traffic the whole way. We will spend the weekend here in Michigan and then meet the Sojourner's on Monday at Oshkcosh. Thank you for your prayers, they have been heard!! Anita
Smooth travels so far for the Dorland family with the pathfinder trailer
Our co-director Anita Dorland, whose family is towing our club's gear trailer behind their camper, checked in earlier and let me know they had almost made it through the big sky country of Montana on their way to North Dakota! Their travels have gone smoothly so far, though she said they had to take it slow with our heavy gear trailer in tow through the many mountain passes. She also mentioned that the trailer tires are heating up quite a bit under the weight of the trailer. Please contine to pray for safety for the Dorland family as they journey east.
